Win Spitfire tickets

There are three games for you to see this week if you are a Windsor Spitfires fan. They host Erie in a rare Tuesday night game at 7:05pm. The Soo Greyhounds come to town Thursday before Windsor hits the road to visit the Saginaw Spirit Saturday night. The Spits close out the week against their 401 rivals from London Sunday at 4:05pm at the WFCU Centre.

Windsor has clinched the West Division for the third time in three season and have a 41-16-4-1 record for 87 points heading into the week.

They are third overall in the OHL, two points ahead of Brantford and are the second seed in the Western Conference behind the Knights.

Liam Greentree is third in league scoring with 45 goals and 110 points and trails Brantford's Nick Lardis by three points.

Two points behind him is teammate Ilya Protas who also has 45 goals.

After this week the Spits will have two games remaining in the regular season with Sarnia in town March 20th before closing it out in London the following night.

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
