Weekend Wrap

The St. Clair golf teams started well in their first tournament of the season. Shannon Coffey (pictured on the right) led the women's team finishing 4th overall with an 84 at Ambassador Golf Sunday.

The men's team finished third in the ten team field led by Nathan Woods who placed third after shooting a one-over-72.


The men's baseball team improved to 5-0 following a weekend sweep of Centennial that saw the Saints win 11-1 and 8-3 on Saturday.


The St. Clair football team beat GTA 60-0 and return home this Saturday night to face Ottawa.


The softball team is 7-0 after winning all four of their games by a combined total of 47-4. The Saints beat Mohawk 10-0 and 15-0 Sunday at home.


Tanner Page scored helping the men's soccer team to earn a 1-1 tie with Fanshawe Sunday. They are 1-0-1.


The women beat the Falcons 3-0 and improve to 2-0. The Saints are the only team yet to concede a goal.

The softball team at the University of Windsor had a strong weekend winning five of six games improving to 8-2 on the season. They swept Waterloo and Guelph before splitting with Laurier Sunday.


Golfer Steven Hill took silver at the Western Invitational shooting a 72. Kennedy Fremlin placed 5th with a team low 81.


The men's soccer team picked up a point an a nil-nil tie. The Lancers are still looking for their first win of the season after four ties and a loss.

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media. 

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.  

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few. 

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
