The LaSalle Vipers broke open a 1-1 game early in the second and skated to a 5-2 win in their playoff opener against the Chatham Maroons Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex. "I thought the boys were fired up to play today." said forward Adriano Tonin who had a goal and an assist.
With fresh but wet ice Ethan Martin pounced on a puck that was lost in a small patch of water and capitalized :21 seconds into the second period for a 2-1 lead. Adriano Tonin scored what turned out to be the game winner almost four minutes later off the faceoff. "On my goal it was a friend line connection and it was a perfect faceoff from Tucker then a chip from Frattaroli and I got lucky it bounced right to me and I shot it as best as I could and thankfully it went it."
The Vipers have a 1-0 first round series lead with game two in Chatham Thursday night.
