Brendan Leblanc hit a homerun for the Wildcats who will compete at the OFSAA regionals beginning June 1st at Lacasse Park. "Our pitching was solid" said Beale whose staff gave up four hits against Wallaceburg. Here's the game ending strikeout by Owen Findlay.

The victory marks the first time Villanova has won both WECSSAA and SWOSSA in the same season.

"Villanova to me is a very good team. They have potential to do real well in this tournament." said tournament convenor and St. Anne head coach Steve Burke.

The two-day playoff is being hosted by St. Anne, who will be one of 18 teams competing. "We're excited to host because there's opportunity to play against teams from other areas." Said Burke.

Games will be played at both Lacasse Park and Mic Mac Park June 1st and 2nd.

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
