Oliver Peer made an impressed and was rewarded by the Windsor Spitfires. He has signed an OHL Standard Agreement as an undrafted free agent.
During his last season on the ice Peer played for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U18 AAA team and had 22 points in 31 games. In a release from the Spitfires Peer said, "I am very excited, and it is something that has taken me by surprise a little bit".
Peer scored the lone shootout goal during his first training camp session and put up a couple of points during the annual Blue and White game Saturday night. "I felt good in camp and performed well, and it was a comfortable environment and I was able to play my own style.
General manager Bill Bowler says Peer plays with pace and has the ability to make plays, "We knew a bit about him before camp and he played well against other OHL players and made it an easy decision to sign him".
