The visitors used a six-run second to cruise to victory. The Stars now have to play spot on baseball without a loss the rest of the way in order to three-peat. Windsor faces Oakville at Cullen Field Saturday at 1pm.

The Windsor A's are also playing in the tournament. Their first game is against Brampton.

Mike DeLong is expected to get the start in game 2.

Here are some shots from game 1 between the Stars and Ilderton.

EARLIER IN THE DAY

It's been a long day for members of the Windsor Stars senior men's baseball team. "Some of us have been here (Cullen Field) since (9am) this morning and we're discouraged that this happened." said Stars manager Ron Smith.

A heavy early afternoon downpour flooded parts of the Cullen Field rendering the diamond unplayable for their 1pm start against the Ilderton Riverhawks. There were infield puddles and parts of the warning track and the visitor's bullpen were under water. "The parks department is doing the best." Smith said of the city's efforts to drain the fields.

Games at other diamonds were also postponed. The Stars are now scheduled to open the OBA sr. men's elimination tournament tonight at Cullen Field at 7:30pm against Ilderton. Smith says he is hopeful other diamonds being used for the tournament, including Soulliere Field, will be ready for tonight as well.

Half of Friday's schedule was lost because of the storms and will be made up Saturday into Sunday.
