The Tecumseh Saints jr. girls basketball team jumped into a second place tie with ONL-X last weekend in the G-Elite League. The U-16's beat the Pelham Panthers before disposing of ONL-X in their second game of the day.
"They beat us 15 just over a month ago and in convincing fashion and we just absolutely cleaned up everything that went wrong last time." said head coach Dave Fuerth as the Saints rebounded to beat the Ottawa team 72-48. "It was really good for these girls to see that's where they fit in that league."

Tecumseh has 10 wins and four losses and are two games behind league-leading Oakville's PDM Jr's.
Daphne Northcott, a student at Ursuline College in Chatham, travels to Windsor with two others to play for Tecumseh. "I get the experience I need here and more attention here." Said Northcott who specifically wanted to play G-Elite. "I know it's a high level. G-Elite, they track your stats and everything when you play so I really like that. I'm able to look at my highlight reels, look at everything about my stats. It makes me a better ball player."
Payton Zinyk feels the team and league offers players a good balance between competitiveness and fun.

"We're a such a good team collectively together and we've been working hard at practices three days a week, just working out and giving full attention in the gym and I feel it's put us above the competition."
The U16's are back in action the weekend at the end of March in Unionville when they play four games on the 29th and 30th. Tecumseh will host a G-Elite weekend April 12-13 at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
