Casey Torres was an assistant coach in the AHL for the Hartford Wolf Pack during the 2021-2022 season before becoming the team's skills development coach. “Casey’s skills as a coach and his commitment to player development will compliment head coach Jerrod and our current staff. His hockey background will bring a perspective that will benefit our entire hockey department.” said Spits GM Bill Bowler in a team statement.
The Kingston native was a scout with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2016-2021 and earned a Stanley Cup with the Pens. The 43-year old runs a business called Torres Hockey Program specializing in skating and skill development.
The hiring comes a day after bringing Mike Dukeshire to the organization as a scout. Dukeshire was a scout for the Barrie Colts for the past four years.
Windsor opens training camp next week.
