Serge Hopogap leads L'Essor to title

A tighter game in the rematch of the sr. boys 2A title between L'Essor and Riverside. "It was very tough," said Les Aigles' head coach Justin Soontiens after his team beat the Stingers 2-1. "We have a great attacking line and the keeper was shutting us down."

L'Essor beat Riverside 3-0 in last year's final.

This year the winning goal came off the foot Serge Hopogap. The grade 10 player wired a shot to the top right side of the goal from about 20 yards out sending Les Aigles to the SWOSSA championship next week.

"To win it. That was a great feeling." Hopogap said. "The whistle at the end of the game I felt very happy. Everyone came up to me. Everyone congratulated me and it feels really good."
