Selects hope to make good first impression

The Windsor Selects 18U's are hosting a pair of games this weekend at Cullen Field against the Great Lakes Canadians. The exhibition will be their first taste of action in the CPBL against a team that is a perennial contender. "Looking forward to see how we match up against them". said Selects head coach Jay Evans.


The Selects will be missing a couple of key players in pitcher Nick Veselinovic and right fielder Bryson Vernon who will be Dorchester for the Fall Showcase Tournament which will give them an opportunity to seen by scouts and coaches from across Canada.


Evans said, "being new to the league we want to have a good showing to create a good first impression".


Jacob Ray, who is committed to the University of Waterloo, is scheduled to start the first game starting at 11am. The second game is slated to begin at 1pm.
