Savard hired as new Spits head coach

Windsor Spitfires general manager named former NHL'er Marc Savard as the new head coach of the team Tuesday morning.

Savard played 14-years in the NHL and won the Stanley Cup in Boston in 2011 before his career was cut short due to concussions.

The 44-year old was most recently an assistant with the St. Louis Blues before accepting the Windsor job. Savard has a burning desire to be a head coach and is thankful Bowler has given him the opportunity.
