The magic carpet ride continues for the St. Clair women's soccer team. They are headed to the OCAA final 4 in Toronto later this week following Saturday's 1-0 win over Centennial. "Amazing." described Karlee Tinline following the victory. "We've worked so hard and to come this far is amazing."
Tinline played in only six games this season while dealing with shoulder issues. She didn't scored a regular season goal but she has four in two playoff games to lead the Saints. The Cambridge, Ontario native found the back of the net three times in St. Clair's playoff opening 6-0 win over Niagara October 18th. Her first half tally against Centennial was the lone goal of the game Saturday.
"Qualifying for the Final 4 is huge and Tineline is a big part of that success." said head coach Steve Vagnini. "Wouldn't have expected anything less. She was at every training session and asking to play with her arm in a sling. So you tell me how much she means to this team."
The Saints, who finished the regular season with a 7-1-2 record, head to Toronto and will open the Final 4 tournament Friday at 4pm against Seneca (9-1 and ranked 1st in Ontario and 2nd in Canada).
