Lancers basketball in first place
The women's basketball team at the University of Windsor swept their weekend beating Laurentian 64-51 Friday before dumping Nipissing 71-56 Saturrday giving Chantal Vallee's team seven wins in their last eight games. The Lancers are first in the OUA West at 7-3 followed by Guelph at 6-3. Brock is in town Saturday to close out the first semester at 6pm.
On the men's side, the Lancers also swept their weekend 89-81 over Laurentian Friday and 87-73 Saturday. Chris Cheng's team has won four of their last five to improve to 5-5. That record is good for a first place tie with Western in the OUA West right now. They host Brock Saturday night at 8pm.
Men's hockey kept pace with the top teams in the OUA West splitting with Lakehead. The Lancers dropped a 4-1 decision Friday before rebounding Saturday with a 3-1 win. At 8-6, they are third in the division one point behind Lakehead and Western. The Lancers host TMU Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
Women's hockey dropped both of their games. They lost at Carleton 4-1 Friday but salvaged a point in a 2-1 overtime loss at Ottawa. The Lancers are 7-6 and sit second in the West division. They are at the University of Toronto Friday before closing out the semester at TMU Saturday afternoon.
Saints Volleyball unblemished
At St. Clair College, The women's volleyball team continues their winning ways. They were on the road and beat Mohawk 3-1 Friday and followed that up with a 3-1 win over Redeemer to improve to 9-0. The Sportsplex will be the place to be as 9-0 Humber hits the floor for a battle royale for first place.
The men have been on the wrong side of games having lost six in a row including losses to Mohawk and Redeemer this weekend. The Saints are second last in the West Division at 2-7.

The women's team split beating Mohawk 76-72 Friday before losing 47-39 to Niagara Saturday. The Saints are 6th in the OCAA West with a 3-4 record. They visit Humber and Sheridan next weekend before heading into the holiday break.
The Windsor Spitfires swept their weekend edging out Barrie 2-1 at home Thursday, beating Kitchener on the road 3-1 Saturday before closing out the weekend with a 6-3 Saturday night at home against Ottawa. Windsor will host Saginaw Wednesday at the WFCU Centre before hitting the road for a pair next weekend.
The Leamington Flyers had their 14-game win streak snapped Friday night at Milton as they lost 4-2. The Flyers got back on track Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 win in Buffalo. They host Mississauga Thursday. Leamington is at the top of their conference and league standings with 24 wins and 51 points after 30 games. Trenton is second overall, tied with Collingwood, and have five games in hand on Leamington.
