New pathway for soccer clubs

Windsor TFC is creating a "different pathway" to development and it starts with the Amherstburg Soccer Club. The ASC's competitive program, Fusion, will now play under the WTFC banner. "We want to give soccer players in Amherstburg a chance to polish up their skills and be showcased at the right level under a big club like Windsor TFC. "said Rob Arce, the club's technical director.

WTFC president Vancho Cirovski says the pathway of development has informal support from some of the 19 Windsor-Essex County soccer clubs but the Fusion is the first to enter into a formal agreement. "Our effort is one that has Toronto supporting". said Cirovski. "Ultimately every kid in Ontario wants to be there. We have a direct path to them"

The move increases WTFC's player count to 200. The Amherstburg Soccer Club will continue to operate their house league program.
