Montcalm honoured

Noelle Montcalm is being inducted into the University of Windsor Alumni Sports Hall of Fame in September. A video will be released online to commemorate this year's class.

"I still feel very attached and involved and it's just a great honour just to be recognized among the other inductees. Definitely appreciated" said the 2016 Olympian.

Montcalm, who graduated in 2012, enters the hall with Osi Nriagu, Matt Butler and Scott Hillman.

Nriagu was a high jump and long jump specialist who helped lead the Lancers to five straight OUA titles and three national crowns before graduating in 2007.

Butler won two OUAA golds in the 100 backstroke during his five-year career at the U. He won the Olympic Shield during his final year in 1990. He is a five-time team MVP.

Hillman was an OUA all-star in 1998 after leading all CIS defencemen in scoring. He helped the Lancers capture their first Queen's Cup title. In '99, as captain, he led the team to their second straight appearance at the national tournament.

"It's such a great honour. I cherish the memories" said Montcalm summing her feelings about the upcoming induction. "It won't be an in-person ceremony but they're still going to do such a wonderful job recognizing us".
