Shadell Millinghaus carried the Windsor Express on his shoulder in a win-your-in regular season finale at the WFCU Centre Sunday afternoon. He was the price of admission as he dropped a game-high 50 points but it was all for naught as the Express lost 135-130 to Sudbury and failed to qualify for the BSL post season.
"Devastating," is how Millinghaus described the feeling of missing playoffs. "I wanted to go to the playoffs. Sacrificed so much, being with my kids and all that. I just wanted to make it worth it but fell short.
The Express finished the season with a 15-11 record and fell percentage points behind Newfoundland and Sudbury. "They wanted it a little bit more than we did," said head coach Bill Jones. "We had it at home. They played last night and they just a little bit more pep in their step than we did.
