Maroons come back to beat Vipers

The Chatham Maroons fought back from two deficits to beat the Vipers 5-4 in LaSalle Wednesday night. Andrew Kotevski and Nathan Gaymes gave the home team a 2-0 lead midway through the first but Cale Marontate would cut the deficit in half before period's end. Rorey Elson tied the game but Connor Tucker scored his 11th on the powerplay at the 8:00 mark for a 3-2 lead.

Chatham would score three unanswered goals to take a 5-3 lead midway through the third. Kotevski would score his second of the game and 13th of the season with 2:23 left in the game but that's as close as they would get. The win moves the Maroons into 4th in the Western Conference. LaSalle now has company at the top of the conference as London beat Komoka 6-0. Both teams have 41 points. St. Mary's is third with 39 points with a game in hand.
