Rosalind Canty won gold at the Texas State Championship. She beat Texan Sindi Salazar to win the 119lb division title. She then moved up a weight class to square off against Cassie Parsley of Texas on won gold in the Elite 125lb division.

Leamington's U15 team an OBA championship beating host Tilsonburg 6-2 in the final. They were the only team to go undefeated during the tournament. Carter Chorba was the winning pitcher for the Lakers while Chris Joseph earned the save. The victory earned Leamington back to back titles.

In the picture below the sun set on a wonderful 2022-23 season that saw the Leamington Flyers win the Sutherland Cup. The dawn of a new season begins Thursday as the Flyers welcome the Buffalo Jr. Sabres to Leamington in their first game in the OJHL. "It's an exciting week and time for the Leamington Flyers." said head coach Dale Mitchell as his team will also celebrate their GOJHL title with a banner raising. "It'll be great to see this new group take on the challenge of competing in the OJHL and to play in front of our great crowd."

The Amherstburg Admirals have added three native sons to the team with the signing of defenceman Ryan Dufour and Max Evans and forward Brett Jones. The team will have ten players from A-burg on the roster this season. The Addy's have a pair of exhibition games this week (in Essex Tuesday and in Wheatley Wednesday).

The Windsor Lancers women's soccer team opened their season with a bang at Algoma. Kailyn Robertson scored three goals to lead the Lancers to a 9-0 win over the Thunderbirds Saturday. She scored two more on Sunday in a 5-0 win. Olivia Corazza had three goals this weekend in her debut as a Lancers.

On the men's side, Frankie Facchineri scored on a penalty kick Saturday helping the Lancers earn a 1-1 tie. Neither team scored on Sunday in draw.

Training camp has wrapped up. The Windsor Spitfires held their Blue vs White game Saturday night with White winning 8-4. The Spits open the pre-season Thursday night at the WFCU Centre against the Flint Firebirds. Their season opener is September 29th in Sarnia. Their home opener is the following night against Guelph.
