LaSalle extend series vs Chatham

Abdul Abouzeeni made his debut in this first round series one to remember scoring the first goal of the game and assisting on another leading the LaSalle Vipers to a 5-0 lead over the Chatham Maroons.

"To have that older guy, older presence back is obviously a big help for our team" said Vipers' head coach John Nelson.

Backed by a 34-save effort by goaltender Matthew Sbrocca the VIpers were able to stave off elimination in front of 859 fans at the Vollmer Complex. Chatham leads the best-of-seven first round series 3-2.

With LaSalle leading 1-0 early in the second period, Evan Ferguson beat Maroons' goalie Kevin Linker to a loose puck and scored a game changing goal.

"We played well for the most part here the last three games, said Maroons' head coach Tyler Roeszler. " This is a step back. We gotta go home and win a game."
