Lancers ready for round 2 challenge

After dispatching Lakehead from the OUA playoffs for a second straight year the Windsor Lancers draw the Brock Badgers in round two. Goaltender Nathan Torchia says head coach Kevin Hamlin has emphasized sticking to their game plan and playing a tough 200 foot game.

"We wanna make it as tough as possible for them to come into our rink and we want to out work them in all areas of the ice." said Windsor's Male Athlete of the Week who allowed four goals in the 2-game sweep of Lakehead while turning aside over 90 shots.

Brock finished first in the OUA West finishing ten points ahead of Windsor who finished tied for first a year ago.

"It’s definitely a different feeling," said Torchia. "We obviously didn’t anticipate being in this situation but we love the idea of everyone doubting us, and we are going to use that as motivation going into the series."

Puck drop is 7:30 at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex. Games two and three in the best-of-three series are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday afternoon in Thorold at the Canada Games Park.
