Lancers growing

You don't usually see players smiling after a big loss but the Windsor Lancers women's basketball team was upbeat despite an 85-58 loss in their season opener Wednesday night. "I really don't care what the score says" said Noor Bazzi who had nine points and three rebounds in 14 minutes of play. "We did a lot better than our exhibition games".

And that's all that matters to this team right now. The Lancers are young with eleven first year players. Bazzi was a two-year players at St. Clair and finished her career with the Saints with a provincial silver. She has the most experience on the roster.

"This is our sixth game together and the improvement already from preseason to now is remarkable", said head coach Chantal Vallee. "We are doing this for the process right now".
