Lakeshore sweeps Thamesford

Despite being short five players for various reasons, the Lakeshore Canadiens completed their sweep of the PJHL's Western Conference Final with a 6-2 win at Thamesford Tuesday night. "It was a good round for us. I thought we played well and rebounded coming off an emotional series last round. One of our goals going in was to end as early as possible so we can get a little rest here."

"It’s been a busy few weeks so our plan is to take some days off and prepare for what’s coming next." Iaquinta said as the Canadiens await the conclusion of the other three playoff series before finding out who they'll play next. "At this point of the season it doesn’t matter much who we will play. Every team is really good and wants to win. Our focus is on us and staying motivated for each of our goals."

Hanover has a 2-1 lead over Alliston in the North Conference Final. Clarington leads 2-1 over Napanee in the East Conference Final while New Hamburg has Grimsby on their knees leading 3-1 in the South Conference Final.

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
