Lajeunesse earns OFSAA berth

The Lajeunesse girls soccer team didn't have bus legs after a two-hour ride to face North Lambton for the SWOSAA championship. Les Royals scored two goals in the first 15 minutes on their way to a 6-0 win. "A lot of good energy after the drive." said head coach Brendan Parent. "They were definitely ready to go."

Sierra Gosselin led the way with a three goal performance. Sofie Waters scored two while Zoe Beaulieu added a single for Lajeunesse, who will have the comfort of playing at home when the OFSAA A tournament begins June 2nd.

With Belle River hosting the event Les Royals were forced to earn their way to the tournament. "We had a chance a couple of years ago so for them to come back here and have the first experience for a lot of them with high school sports to be able to make it this far is a very encouraging sign for them and spirits are high."
