The Holy Names sr. girls soccer team capped off a dream season on the pitch winning OFSAA gold Saturday in Grimsby. Leah Tate led the way with a three goal effort helping the Knights beat Georgetown's Christ the King 4-2. Alessia Fanella also scored for Holy Names who finished the season undefeated at 25-0.

"Marc, Emma and I are so so proud of our players. They are a special group." said co-head coach Stacey Ditchfield who helped guide the Knights to the program's first ever gold medal.

For Tate, this was her second OFSAA gold of this school year. "This tournament was such a fun experience for our team. We played hard adn stuck together to go all the way and bring home the gold." said Tate who also won an OFSAA silver medal with the sr. girls basketball team.

The Knights were blessed with depth this season and had different scorers step up throughout the tournament. Ditchfield also praised the team's attention to defence. "We are champions because we defend as a team. Truly an amazing way for our seniors to finish out their grade 12 year."
