Kennedy advances to semi's

It's crunch time on the high school volleyball scene. The semi-finals are set and includes the Kennedy Clippers who beat Assumption Monday night in a barn burner. The teams traded sets with the Clippers winning the first and third and the Raiders taking the second and fourth.

The fifth and deciding set was contentious with both teams going back and forth. Kennedy eventually pulled away to win 15-11. "It meant a lot." said grade 11 hitter Jesse Moffat. "Fought hard the whole time."

Kennedy finished 4-6 in tier 1 this season and feel that helped them prepare for the Tier 2 playoffs. "We kind of struggled with it. We know we deserve it and we got it.

The Clippers advance to face Leamington Wednesday on the road. The Lions, who swept North Star in the quarter-finals, were the top team in Tier 2 going 10-0. Kingsville edged out Essex 3-2 and will host Riverside who beat Herman 3-0.
