Holy Names captures 3A championship

Leah Tate scored late in the 2nd half to give Holy Names a 2-1 win over Villanova. "It feels really good. I'm really happy." Tate said after helping the Knights win their first sr. girls title since 2013.

Tate's goal was scored less than a minute after Natalia DiGiovanni tied the game on a scramble in front of the Knights goal following a corner kick.

Layla Hutson scored to open the scoring in the first half with a strike from 20 yards out. "Everybody worked hard every single game." Hutson said about her teammates. "We had new players come in when some senior from last year graduated. They pulled our team together."
