Keegan Gillen and the Soo Greyhounds were hoping to keep their five-game win streak alive heading into their playoff opener against Windsor but the Spitfires skated away with a convincing 7-2 win.

The Amhersburg native was a 14th round pick in last year's draft and made the cut playing in 58 games this season.
"I feel that my defensive game has improved since the start of the season," The 17-yera old told Powerplay Sports. "I want to thank my coaches and teammates for pushing me to improve this specific area of my game. Off of the ice, my discipline has improved. Having to manage an OHL schedule on top of school has pushed me to create better habits and routines."
Game two of the series is Saturday night at the WFCU Centre and Gillen is relishing the opportunity to play against the home town team.
"It is definitely an exciting time of year and it is even better that my family and friends are able to attend," Gillen told Powerplay Sports. "I am just looking to keep all my focus on what I can do to help our team succeed."
