Family Affair at UWindsor

Updated: Apr 16, 2019

The Department of Athletics at The University of Windsor considers itself lucky to have landed the Circelli brothers to lead their football program. In January, J.P. was given the nod as the program's fifth bench boss in the fifty year history of the program after Joe D'Amore stepped down. Circelli brought his younger brother Joe to Windsor to be the Offensive Co-Ordinator but the family affair doesn't end there. The Circelli's will be joined by their father Mike. The retired teacher/coach is highly reverred in the London football community and says he is excited for the opportunity to coach with both his boys at the same time.

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
