The NFL Draft Party is shaping up to be a fun celebration for the Windsor-Essex sports community. The festivities start at noon in front of City Hall with the NFL Canada Fan Experience, Viewing Party, Fan Competitions and Skills Clinic.
We recently caught up with the Essex Ravens' Bantam team and some are excited to test their ability in the skills competition (NFL Combine style.). They are looking forward to meeting former NFL players from our region including Luke Willson, OJ Atogwe, Dakota Shepley, Brett Romberg and Ed Philion.
The Ravens are also looking to see where Holy Names grad Theo Johnson will get drafted.
His college stat sheet doesn't grab your attention with less than a thousand yards receiving and 12 touchdowns in four seasons.
Johnson did grab everyone's attention at the NFL Combine. "I thought he dominated the combine." Former NFL'er Luke Willson told Powerplay Sports.
NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein has Johnson projected to be drafted in the third round in Detroit Friday night.
