Amherstburg's Josh DiCarlo is one of two local golfers competing in the BioSteel Championship (formerly the Windsor Championships) at Ambassador Golf starting Thursday. "I feel like my game is the best it's been in a while." said the Pointe West golfer.
He and Thomas DeMarco are in the field of 156 golfers in the PGA Tour Americas event. DiCarlo is having a good season having won the Ontario Men's Match Play title at Tarandowah Golfers Club in Springfield, Ontario in June.
He also made the cut and finished tied for 16th at the 102nd Ontario Men's Amateur Championship with a four-round total of 281. "I've been practicing a lot this summer and I feel like I'm ready to rock and roll."
Enrolled in the Automotive Supply Chain Management program at Wayne State, the 23-year old is going for his Masters and looks forward to playing a 5th season of golf for the Warriors.
"Stay in the moment and go from there." DiCarlo said as he sizes up his game against the best amateur golfers in the province. "Maybe after school give it a go maybe for a little bit and try it out (pro career) but if not it's not the end of the world. It's just a game and have some fun."
DiCarlo tees off on 10 at 2:40pm while DeMarco tees off at the same time on hole number 1.
