20-year old Jayden Trudell scored a 3rd round TKO of Jose Gonzalo Otoya out of Calgary's Southpaw Boxing Club in the 71kg final to win gold at the Calgary Cup. Jarelyn Castillo beat Nihla Henry to gold in the 75kg youth national division. The victory qualifies her to represent Canada at the World Youth Boxing Championships in a yet to be determined location near you. Rosalind Canty lost in 3-2 decision in her first bout and went on to bring home a bronze.
The St. Clair College football team is building another winner in the off-season announcing eight new recruits in the last two days. The Saints are expecting to add 25 by the time they are done including American and International players. The coaching staff is looking forward to spring camp starting May 3rd.
The Windsor Spitfires ended the regular season losing 8-5 in Saginaw. Windsor finishes last in the Western Conference a year after winning back-to-back conference championships. The Spits placed second-last in the league, two points ahead of Niagara.

The Windsor Express dropped a 115-109 decision in Sudbury a day after making a one-for-one trade with the Five that sent Paul Harrison up north and brought Jalen Hayes to the Rose City. Windsor drops to 11-9 on the season and are travel to Montreal to face the Toundra Friday. Their next home game is April 4th vs Newfoundland.
