Clements commits to Saints

For as long as we've seen her, Emma Clements has always been an impactful player on the volleyball court for Holy Names. When high school sports returned this season Clements did not look rusty. Earlier this month she helped lead the Knights to the WECSSAA final where they lost to General Amherst 3-1.

Since then she has committed to continuing her volleyball career at St. Clair College. "I decided to play at St. Clair because I love the positive environment that is created by both the team, and the coaches."

Clements will be taking the Legal Studies and Social Justice program. She joins top recruits Geneva Huisman, a 6'3 middle from Amherstburgh who is set to graduate from Maranatha, Kingsville Cavaliers libero Jordyn Beneteau and outside hitter Haven Fournier from Sudbury.

Familiarity comes in handy for Clements who knows head coach Jimmy El-Turk through the Sky Volleyball program. "What I like about Jimmy as a coach is that he is always pushes me to be better as an athlete, student and as a person. Jimmy truly wants the best for his athletes and I cannot wait to play for him."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
