Winning has become a habit in Lakeshore with the Canadiens riding a 14-game winning streak heading into Friday's home game against Blenheim. "Everytime you get wins it feels good for anybody but it's not something we really put an emphasis on or anything that we really look at or talk about in our room." said head coach Anthony Iaquinta.
The Canadiens dropped a home and home against Essex in mid-October and haven't lost since. They've scored 94 goals during the streak which is more than 41 of the 61 PJHL teams have scored this season.
They've allowed 29 goals during the 14-game stretch but Iaquinta feels his team is giving up too many scoring chances. "It's our defensive zone that we've been trying to hammer home and the importance of it. If you're giving up a lot of chances maybe they're not going in right now and maybe we're relying too much on the goaltending at times so for us it's just maintaining guys to the outside and making sure everybody is doing their job."
Iaquinta feels his team is getting better as the season progresses and likes that his players are embracing the process. "We're happy with the attitude and we have some really good guys. They're high quality people and at the end of the day that's what we want."
