It's gonna be a busy weekend on the sports front in Windsor-Essex. Let's start at the University of Windsor. The track and field team is hosting their annual Team Challenge with 20 teams and clubs descending competing.

"Our team has really taken it to the next level this year after the success they had last year," Lancers head coach Colin Inglis told Powerplay Sports. "We've had changes every single week to our all-time top 10. Several school records that have happened. This team's been battling hard all season.

The women's hockey team is at home vs Brock Friday night and host Guelph Saturday afternoon at 4pm at the Capri Recreation Centre.
SAINTS VOLLEYBALL BEGIN PLAYOFFS

The women's volleyball team kicks off a busy day at the Sportsplex as they open the playoffs against the George Brown Huskies at 2pm. The Saints finished the regular season with a 16-2 record and finished 2nd behind 18-0 Humber. Geneva Huisman leads the way after finishing the season 3rd in the OCAA West with 4.3 points per set and 2nd in the league with a .412 kill percentage.
The women's basketball team (5-10) host Redeemer at 6pm while the men cap off the night at 8pm looking to finish wih the best record in program history. The Saints are 15-2 and will finish second in the OCAA West behind Humber who are 18-0 and have the tie breaker over St. Clair.

After losing to the Saginaw Spirit at home Wednesday night, the Windsor Spitfires are looking to get back in the win column when they host the Sarnia Sting Friday night at the WFCU Centre. Windsor sits 2nd in the Western Conference with 34 win and 74 points. There are 19 games left in the regular season.
