Windsor Spitfires general manager Bill Bowler added depth to the team acquiring forward Aiden Castle and defenceman Rodwin Dionicio from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Chris O'Flaherty, Bronson Ride and two draft picks (2nd in 2026 and 4th in 2024).
Castle had 13 goals and 20 points in 30 games for the last place Ice Dogs this season. “Aiden is a really good two-way player with solid Hockey IQ.” Bowler said, in a statement released by the team. “He can play in any situation and he is a talented forward that can play anywhere in the lineup.”
Dionicio, who played for Switzerland at the World Juniors, is in his second OHL season after being picked 18th overall in the CHL import draft in 2021. He has 4 goals and 3 assists in 17 games this season.
“Rodwin is a versatile defenceman with untapped offensive instincts.” Bowler said. “He is a world junior player with a tremendous upside.”
The Spitfires are on the road Friday night at Sarnia before returning home for a 4:05 game against Flint.
