The Lakeshore Canadiens are one win away from the Schmalz Cup final after beating New Hamburg 4-0 Tueday to take a 3-1 series lead. "After game 3 we felt like we were out worked and out competed for the entire game," said head coach Anthony Iaquinta who missed the game 4 but saw the video. "For us we wanted to make sure we stop taking shortcuts and finish plays. Our effort level needed to be higher and on Tuesday it was."
The Canadiens are looking to return to the show for the third straight year. They won the Schmalz Cup in 2022 against Clarington. Wellesley beat them out a year ago.
Lakeshore looks to close out their semi final series on the road Friday night. "Friday is a big game for us. I think they’ve outplayed us both times in their arena so we need to find a way to come out ready to play from puck drop. We want to go out and compete for 60 minutes and from there we will live with whatever happens." Iaquinta said.
