Agapito's two goals lifts Windsor City FC to victory

Jonathan Agapito erased a 1-0 deficit in a span of less than three minutes late in the game to propel the Windsor City FC to a 2-1 victory over Simcoe County FC.

Ijah Halley gave the visitors the advantage at the 79 minute mark of the game. With defeat looming Agapito went to work. Gianni Ferri chipped a cross pass from the far side to an awaiting Agapito who made no mistake sailing the ball opposite side to tie the game.

In the 85th minute a teammate streaking to the near-side corner drew a defender opening up a seem. Agapito seized the opportunity and took a shot that went in short side.

Windsor improved to 3-4-1 while Simcoe FC dropped to 5-3-1.

Check out the goals and post game interview with Agapito.

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
