A21 women’s team growing up fast

The women of A21 played in the NAPHA League Championship (West Conference) at Nichols School in Buffalo.

They lost 3-0 to Northwood School(Lake Placid) #4 ranked in US. in their first game Friday. In their second game they went to overtime against ShadySide Academy (Pittsburgh) losing 4-3. In their final game they lost a 3-2 thriller in a shootout to host Nichols School (Buffalo).


“Just a remarkable showing by our Girls Prep team in their first season in the NAPHA League Championships”, said head coach Rob Serviss whose team competed hard against, “all these traditional big named US prep schools”.


The team now moves Into a four month stretch of daily skill development and spring games. A21 finished the season playing 43 games in its first season of Girls Prep.

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media. 

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.
