Connor McCracken scored on the powerplay at 4:47 of overtime lifting the Essex 73’s to a 3-2 win over Lakeshore Tuesday night at home. “We played good.” McCracken said. “Everyone played hard, played for the whole sixty and then the overtime.”
The game got to overtime on a questionable goal in the third. While Karson Beuglet circled behind the Lakeshore goal the net became dislodged. Beuglet then passed to Austin Guevremont who made a nifty move and scored on the backhand.
“It is what it is and you have to find a way to fight through it.” Said Lakeshore head coach Anthony Iaquita.
The Canadiens saw their seven-game win streak end while Essex extended theirs to six. Lakeshore hosts Mooretown Friday to close out the regular season. The 73’s are in Wheatley Wednesday before their regular season finale at Mooretown Saturday.
