73's advance while Habs have Sharks reeling

After losing the first game of the series the Essex 73's rebounded to win four straight against Mooretown in their Stobb Division semi-final series. Conor Dembinski scored his first of the playoffs late in the first to get Essex on the board. Austin Guevremont added another in the second. Ethan Kerby cut the deficit late in the third but Jack Fuerth scored in the empty net as the 73's beat the Flags 3-1 to advance to the final.

They await the winner of the Lakeshore-Wheatley series. The Sharks took the first two games of the series but the Canadiens have powered back to win three straight including Tuesday's 5-3 win at home. Marco Sladoje had two goals and added an assist to lead the Canadiens to victory. Lakeshore now leads the series 3-2 and can earn the chance to defend their division title with a win in Game 6 Wednesday night in Wheatley.
