My Story

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to sports coverage by legacy media.

Understanding the shortcoming, I, with the support of my loving wife and family, decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

Powerplay Sports has captured sports at all levels and archived some great moments in the Windsor-Essex Sports community, most of which are found on this page.

I have over 30 years in the sports news business and understand what the coverage means to the athletes and those who follow them.
